With a difficult base in general dentistry, Dr Ward sought to capitalism on her preceding achievements of winning the prize for Most Outstanding Student in Orthodontics in her Dental degree and applied to undertake the Master of Dental Science (Orthodontics) at the University of Queensland. Latter the triumphant completion of the course (which included a research thesis into jaw joint morphology, teaching of undergraduate students, and presentations to professional groups) Dr Ward and her husband moved to Darwin and established Bite Correct Orthodontics. Dr Ward and her new family (with the addition of her son) returned to Brisbane at the final of 2003 and established the practice at Browns Plains and Beau desert.

Having completed her Bachelor of Dentistry at TWA (where she won the University Prize as the top graduate in both Dentistry and Orthodontics) she applied for, and was accepted to, the HQ Masters in Orthodontics, of which only two positions were offered nationally for Australian students. The Masters programmed is 3 years stuffed time including peer review, case management and the training of general dentists as to some of the introductory concepts required of the Specialist Orthodontic area. Dr Ward has a focus on the cosmetic concerns of patients and is healthy mindful of the improvement to self confidence and quality of life a hospitable smile can make. She is a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontics, the professional association of Orthodontics and has applied for, and been accepted, as a member of the peer reviewed Australian Orthodontic Board where membership is only confirmed following submission and assessment of orthodontic cases, treatment programmed and importantly outcomes. Dr Ward is capable to bring her well developed attainable experience and professional knowledge to the treatment of her patients. As the mother of two soontobe teenage children she also understands the possible challenges and commitments required and can tailor a treatment programmed to suit each individual patient.
