Zakka 81 is a japanese novelty online gift shop. We service all areas of australia and welcome international orders. We both enjoy being working together as artists. Also my aussie husband helps complement of variety of my products with his wood turning. The little sachet type of craft is used to put plectrums for there koto (harp type instrument), also used for perfumes etc. This idea is very old like 200 years old but some places still use them for special decorations. The japanese women used the art of saikumono to express the beauty of nature though out the four seasons using old kimono fabrics. Saikumono is a very delicate hand sewn craft from time gone by which disappeared during a period of war, but now it is revived anew. As for the handmade products, i am doing one of the traditional needleworks called saikumono. I carefully select zakka from some of the most up and coming designs from japan . They are very unique and cool items that are difficult to get outside of japan. We specialise in imported japanese zakka (meaning knick knacks) and handmade one of a kind products. We specialized kawaii stationeries, rare antiques, high quality craft supplies, unique home decor, etc. I hope you enjoy browsing through my shop and find that special something.
